After selling my '83 CJ-7, I immediately began looking at every TJ I passed that was for sale. I spoke with a couple of dealers about ordering a new TJ and even got real excited about the new Wrangler Rubicon that will be available at the end of summer. I knew fairly well what I was looking for and I really wanted to find a *good* deal. In February 2002 I ran into this cute little cheerleader-jeep that had almost everything I wanted in a used Jeep. First of all, it was bone stock, I don't think the hard top had ever been off and there were no scratches underneath. I had the dealer pull a carfax and it had been a lease vehicle in NJ. It only had 30K miles on it and the dealer was anxious to sell, so we struck a deal and I brought home a new vehicle, good thing it was my wife's favorite color! It didn't take long to make my first changes. I knew that it would be awhile before I can afford the type of lift I want, so a little rocker panel protection was required. The first thing I put on are Rock-slide Engineering's Rock Sliders and at the same time traded the 4 grizzly wheels for 5 AR-767 black wheels and put on some 30" Big-O XTs that used to be on my Nissan truck. |
