Here's the reason to upgrade. If your manifold hasn't cracked yet, it probably will. Definite design flaw and the dealer here wouldn't warranty it, so I sunk the dough and went with the best... hopefully. |

After speaking with a couple guys at different exhaust shops, I decided to keep the stock catalytic converter and headpipe. Original plans were to nix the cat and straight-pipe it back to the muffler, but it sounds like that would wreak too much havoc on the ODBII system and the engine wouldn't run right. The other problem was that none of the muffler shops could match the stainless with mandrel bent tubing and the stock stuff is supposedly double-wall stainless. Oh well, it's fun to learn all this... |
