By next year I hope to be riding around without the doors more than
with (my nine-month-old has a hard time catching his breath in the strong
wind). So, I picked up these relocation bracket at Mt. Logan Offroad
and moved the mirrors off the doors.
The hardest thing about this installation was getting the original
torx head bolts out. I broke two different torx sockets (1- craftsman,
1- lysle) and rounded out the inside of one before I swallowed my pride
and took it to a shop. A mechaninc named Bob at Expertec Automotive
in Smithfield pulled out his snap-ons and had the remaining two bolts
out in about five seconds flat. Thanks Bob!
The only problem I've found with these is that when the doors are on,
the passenger mirror is completely obstructed by the door meaning that
if you want a passanger mirror all the time you'll need to move the
right mirror back and forth from the door to the bracket...
